We had a great turn out and beautiful weather for our first Canine Blood Drive. The University of Pennsylvania Penn Animal Blood Bank mobile arrived at NPAH’s parking lot at 9am on Saturday, April 12th. The U of P staff were great with the dogs and made them feel comfortable.
Each dog was a hero! One unit of donated blood can help save the life of up to three critically ill dogs. For their help, they received complimentary food and a goody bag. They are also eligible to receive blood, free of charge, equal to the number of units donated in their lifetime, should they ever need a transfusion.
